i haven't journaled in a long time; being of the opinion that the goings-on of my daily life are tedious and boring matters at best, and the only people who would show any interest in these matters are ones who i talk to or see on a daily or at least weekly basis. but that will change in the near future and so i should get myself back into the habit.
a few weeks ago - friday the 13th of march to be exact - my boyfriend of over four years proposed to me. i said yes - no, we have no date yet, don't ask! - but with a wedding in the interminable future, there's going to be some life changes going on. primarily, he has a job lined up all the way out california, and will be moving there to start at the end of june. i'll be moving out there, as well, when i am finished with my degree in december.
as for the house, my housemates are also getting married and are moving into their own new house at the end of the week. so it will go from four to two at the end of the week, and then from two to one at the end of june. and when the house sells i will be moving into a little apartment until the end of the year.
when i graduate in december, it will be with a bachelor of science in biology and a minor in entomology. i've slacked and flunked and dragged my feet and generally been a terrible student, but it's all going to be over soon.
several weeks ago, i broke my right humerous - the long bone between shoulder and elbow - clean through when i fell while attempting to roller blade. it was a simple fracture, but the break was knocked all out of alignment; fortunately, it realigned without needing surgery. i'm mostly back to business as usual, except my humerous is going to be slightly off for the rest of my life - though the doctors assure me that it will function as normal and i will be comfortable.
freya and loki are gone, so for valentine's day, we brought three new rats into our home - all boys. jasper is a black and white hooded, and zeke and boo are black berkshires - that is, they are solid black with white tummies and white feet. pictures when i upload them from the camera. they are just as sweet and affectionate and loony as the girls were - rats really do make the best pets.
all in all, things are changing, but at a reasonable pace, and i'm pretty well content. |
